Fabio Zanino Featured in Nikitin Mag: Contemporary Sculpture Spotlight

I am honored to be featured in the July 2026 edition of Nikitin Mag as part of its Contemporary Sculpture Spotlight, an international selection highlighting emerging voices in contemporary sculpture. This recognition represents another step in the ongoing evolution of my artistic research and reinforces my commitment to exploring the relationship between matter, memory, and transformation.

The featured works belong to my series of “Decostruzioni” sculptures, where discarded industrial components are transformed into complex abstract compositions. Every fragment carries traces of a previous life: mechanical parts, steel elements, screws, and recovered materials become a new visual language that speaks about time, entropy, and renewal.

Rather than concealing the origin of these materials, I embrace their history. Corrosion, imperfections, and wear become active elements of the composition, allowing each sculpture to exist as both an object and a narrative. Through careful assembly, these remnants evolve into structures that oscillate between architectural forms, urban cartographies, and imagined landscapes.

My artistic practice is rooted in the belief that destruction is never the opposite of creation—it is often its beginning. By dismantling and recomposing industrial matter, I seek to reveal hidden relationships between order and chaos, permanence and impermanence, memory and possibility.

Being included by Nikitin Mag, an international publication dedicated to contemporary art and emerging artists, offers the opportunity to share this research with a broader audience of collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts. As my work continues to evolve, these sculptures remain central to my exploration of transformation: each piece is an invitation to reconsider what we discard, what we preserve, and how matter can acquire new meaning through artistic intervention.
