Drum crash cymbal assemblage sculpture

73 x 82 x 10 cm

Decostruzione C turns deconstructive method onto sound itself. A crash cymbal, an object designed for a single, explosive instant, is cut into a grid of square fragments, then reassembled into the circular form.

The gesture is paradoxical: the whole is destroyed only to be rebuilt from its own ruins, geometry imposed on percussion. What was once heard for a second is now seen indefinitely.

Silenced, the instrument begins to speak visually. The lathe grooves, hammer marks and burnished tonal shifts, traces of both manufacture and performance, become a vibrating optical surface, a mosaic of frozen resonance.
